Creamer Panna Cotta
This simple, elegant panna cotta uses only three ingredients: flavored creamer, milk, and unflavored gelatin. It’s an adaptable dessert that’s easy to make ahead and perfect for dinner parties, casual gatherings, or a quick sweet treat at home.

This nontraditional panna cotta was inspired by a tested, reliable recipe and scaled for home cooks. The real beauty of this version is how the creamer dictates the final flavor and sweetness—choose a creamer you love (we used a caramel macchiato flavor) and adjust as desired. With minimal hands-on time and a forgiving technique, this recipe is an excellent option for both beginners and experienced cooks.
What is in Creamer Panna Cotta?
The recipe is straightforward: flavored sweetened creamer, unflavored gelatin, and milk. The creamer adds flavor and sweetness, the milk balances texture and richness, and the gelatin gives the panna cotta its delicate set. Use your preferred creamer brand and flavor to create variations—from coffee and caramel to vanilla or seasonal syrups.

Substitutes & Variations
- Any flavored creamer will work—the creamer you choose determines the panna cotta flavor.
- Dairy-free option: use a dairy-free creamer and almond or coconut milk in place of dairy milk.
- Vary the sweetness by selecting unsweetened or lower-sugar creamers if preferred.
- Add toppings: fresh berries, caramel drizzle, chocolate shavings, or a light dusting of cinnamon enhance presentation and flavor.
Tips for Success
- Grease ramekins lightly before pouring the mixture to help unmold or serve directly from the ramekin.
- Sprinkle gelatin over the creamer to let it “bloom” and absorb liquid before heating—this improves texture.
- Heat the milk and the creamer-gelatin mixture gently and stir until the gelatin fully dissolves. Do not overboil; a gentle simmer is enough.
- To avoid bubbles on the surface, place plastic wrap directly on top of the liquid while it cools in the ramekins so the surface remains smooth.
- Chill overnight for the best set and texture; if needed the same day, make them as early as possible so they have several hours to firm up.

Recipe Details
Prep: 12 hours (mostly chilling) • Cook: 10 minutes • Total: 12 hours 10 minutes • Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups sweetened flavored creamer (we used caramel macchiato flavor)
- 1 packet unflavored gelatin (2 1/2 teaspoons or 0.25 oz)
- 2 cups 2% or whole milk (or dairy-free milk alternative)
- Optional: caramel drizzle or other toppings for serving
Instructions
- Lightly spray four 6-ounce ramekins with a non-stick spray and set aside.
- Pour the creamer into a small bowl and sprinkle the packet of unflavored gelatin evenly over the surface. Let it sit a few minutes to bloom and absorb the creamer.
- In a small saucepan, slowly heat the milk over medium-low heat until it begins to steam. Stir in the creamer and gelatin mixture, whisking continuously until the gelatin dissolves and the mixture comes back to a gentle simmer. Do not let it boil vigorously.
- Remove from heat and carefully divide the mixture among the prepared ramekins. Allow them to cool at room temperature for about 5 minutes, then cover each ramekin with plastic wrap (pressing the wrap gently so it touches the surface) and refrigerate overnight or until fully set.
- When ready to serve, remove from the refrigerator and add an optional caramel drizzle or chosen topping. Serve chilled.

Serving Suggestions
Serve creamer panna cotta as a stand-alone dessert or pair it with other small sweets—cookies, nut-based bites, or a scoop of ice cream—for a varied dessert plate. Fresh fruit or a light sauce complements the creaminess without overpowering the flavored base.
Storage
Leave the panna cotta in the ramekins. Once cooled, cover each ramekin with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until ready to eat. Do not freeze—freezing changes the delicate texture and can cause separation.

Notes
- Any creamer flavor will work; choose one that matches your preferred dessert profile.
- For a dairy-free panna cotta, substitute both the creamer and the milk with dairy-free alternatives like almond or coconut milk.
- If using larger ramekins, you will yield fewer servings but larger portions.
